Like the 1% formulation, Nizoral 2% works by targeting the fungal overgrowth associated with dandruff (a naturally occurring yeast called Malassezia). The higher concentration delivers a stronger dose of ketoconazole directly to the scalp, which helps manage more severe dandruff, reducing flaking, itching, redness, and scaling.

How to use Nizoral 2% ketoconazole shampoo
Nizoral 2% is applied twice weekly. Wet the hair and scalp, apply a small amount of shampoo and work into a lather, then leave it in contact with the scalp for 3–5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly. It is suitable for adults and children over 12 years of age.
